HOW WE DO IT - THE STEPS WE TAKE
- The ZENO Foundation contacts schools and discusses with the needs of their students, to ensure Essential Hygiene Packs are given to children who need them the most.
- We reach out to large companies and potential suppliers to discuss how they could help us with our mission to empower children, and the specific needs of the school children.
- The ZENO team ensures Step 1 and Step 2 are aligned: ensuring outcomes will be cost efficient, whilst delivering maximum positive impacts for the children.
- We create the Care Packs to suit specific needs. Our Essential Hygiene Packs are always available and other seasonal Packs are available at selected times, based upon children’s needs.The Essential Hygiene Packs include (as a minimum): toothpaste, a toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, baby wipes, soap. The female Essential Hygiene Packs may also contain hair conditioner and face wipes.
- We list the packs on our website in the Donate page and with a simple click, people can buy a selected Essential Hygiene Pack to be gifted to a child.
- The selected Essential Hygiene Pack products are packaged and delivered (within the school term), to the appointed school support staff member. The Essential Hygiene Pack is hand delivered by the school support person, to the child.
- The ZENO Foundation GUARANTEES that 100% of all donations are converted into Essential Hygiene Packs and distributed to our school partners - for the betterment of students and by proxy, the wider community.
- We often receive feedback from our school partners about the students and outcomes of being gifted Essential Hygiene Packs. This feedback is shared on our website and with donors if they have chosen to be updated. See Success Stories
Note: The ZENO Foundation website also allows non-specified monetary donations to be made. The Essential Hygiene Pack selection and needs will be assessed by the ZENO team on behalf of the donor. 100% of all monetary donations is used to purchase products/services for an Essential Hygiene Pack.

We Care About the Wellbeing of Children
Children have such great potential and could be amazing future leaders in our communities, but only if they get the childhood they deserve. The ZENO team are passionate about the wellbeing of children and providing a platform for others to help easily, via the ZENO Foundation. It’s wonderful to know that 100% of all donations directly benefit the children - creating maximum impact.
Empowerment and Self-confidence Through Hygiene
Self-esteem, self-belief, confidence and empowerment are fundamental thought processes for a child to be fully engaged and accepted into the community – rather than being withdrawn, isolated and not committed to their education or future. ZENO Foundation Essential Hygiene Packs help stimulate those ‘feel-good’ though processes and our feedback shows the Essential Hygiene Packs are making genuine, deep-seated changes in the children and their lives.
People Want to Help But Don't Know How
We know people are busy with their own lives, things get in the way and some things on the ‘to-do’ list are never quite finished. We totally understand that life is sometimes way too busy. However, we also know lots of people really do want to help, but want to do it easily, without an ongoing financial commitment … They want to help on their own terms and they want maximum positive impact. That’s why ZENO was created.
It is Not the Children’s Fault
More New Zealand children than ever are living in poverty-stricken homes. They didn’t choose the financial situation they were born into and they’re powerless at their age, to control it. This is why the ZENO Foundation bypasses the parents’ financial decision-making processes and ensures the child is the only recipient of our Essential Hygiene Pack. With your support, we can offset some of the challenges children face and help give them the childhood they deserve.
Higher Student Engagement for Healthier Lives
If children feel good, they’re more likely to be active and engaged in their classes, in sport and their community. This helps them build strong support networks and stable loving relationships that will continue to support them throughout life. By helping children now, we help them form healthy patterns they can build on as they leave school and enter the wider world.
Healthier Children = Healthier Communities
The simple concept of ‘cause and effect’ is often overlooked. We can’t expect children who have grown up in poverty or scarcity, who are engaging poorly at school and in their communities, to miraculously become well-adjusted, well-educated adults and future leaders. These children need extra support to achieve their potential and when they do, everyone benefits! When a student is gifted a Essential Hygiene Pack, the child, their school, the community, the region, our country and planet benefits. The simple gift of a Essential Hygiene Pack can be ‘paid forward’ a hundred-fold! By doing nothing we set children up for failure - we can change this by making the first step.
